Spencer Hovanetz, President – Spencer served as a Project Manager and Division President of Perry Homes (Houston and Dallas divisions) for more than ten years. He has directed the construction of thousands of homes and is an expert in Houston market trends. Under his leadership, the Houston division built in neighborhoods and planned entire developments, including Cinco Ranch, Telfair and Bridgeland. Spencer brings a wealth of experience and relationships to RBS and its investors. Prior to his career in real estate, Spencer earned a B.S. (Business Management) with a minor in MIS. Spencer also proudly served as a Boarding Officer in the United States Coast Guard for 5 years.
When he is not acquiring investment homes for RBS investors, Spencer is active in his local church serving the children's ministry and coaching for his son's sports teams. He's committed to his family, to the Houston community, and committed to the success of every RBS investor.
Ben Mayberry, Principal—A lifetime resident of Houston, Ben earned his degrees in Math and Accounting from Rice University. Ben was one of the original founders of two successful Houston-based technology companies, both of which were sold in the 1990’s.
Ben has owned and managed residential income property in Houston for over 20 years. He currently serves as president of Grassland Realty, a real estate holding company that owns over 400 acres of undeveloped residential property in Houston. Ben has deep roots in the Houston community. He is an adjunct professor at the Jones School of Business at Rice University, and is a former President of the Houston Angel Network. He is also active as an advisor with both the energy and the IT groups at the Houston Technology Center. When Ben is not building RBS or advising emerging companies, you can find him at his ranch in the Texas hill country, which is active both in hunting and whitetail breeding.
Richard Barrett, Principal—A graduate of Rice University (MEE, 1975) Richard founded two technology companies and currently serves on the boards of several emerging companies. Richard and Ben first invested in real estate together in 1982. Since then Richard and Ben have continued to acquire investment property in California and Texas. Richard’s goal is to help every investor build a secure financial future using investment properties as a significant part of a total portfolio.
